Life in the Golan - The Beauty

For many years, the Golan was held by Syria and they turned the land into a big military base with mine fields, bunkers, and trenches. Yet, ever since Israel has lived in the Golan, the Israelis have turned it into a place of beauty.

Israelis now enjoy the Golan as a vacation place with skiing, hiking, camping, enjoying fresh produce from orchards, and just to live! About 15,000 Jews live in the Golan Heights because they enjoy the peace and natural beauty that surrounds them!

As you watch this video, you will discover that after Israel gained control over the Golan Heights, the Golan began to captivate the people of Israel!

Life on the Golan - The Border

The Golan Heights is a long, flat, plateau in Northern Israel, which has been in Israel's hands for 50 years. But why does Israel need to hold on to the Golan Heights going forward?

After Israel captured the Golan from Syria in 1967, they had to continue to defend it in 1973 during the Yom Kippur war. It was an intense battle, but since Israel's victory in 1973 the Golan Israeli border has been the most quiet compared to all the other borders of Israel. Yet, over the past eight years there has been a civil war in Syria, and when you are in the Golan Heights you can hear the bombs going off in Syria.

Before the Syrian civil war, Israel wanted to give the Golan Heights back to Syria, but most Israelis are glad that their leaders held on to the Golan.

As you watch this video, you will learn from ICEJ's VP & Senior Spokesman David Parsons about the Golan Heights and why it is good that Israel is still in control of the Golan!

Why?...Because of the Glory of God's Name!

Why did God choose the nation of Israel? ....

Because of the Glory of God's Name! God explains that he is sanctifying His Holy Name through the people and nation of Israel in Ezekiel 36:22-24:

“Therefore say to the Israelites, ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: It is not for your sake, people of Israel, that I am going to do these things, but for the sake of my holy name, which you have profaned among the nations where you have gone. I will show the holiness of my great name, which has been profaned among the nations, the name you have profaned among them. Then the nations will know that I am the Lord, declares the Sovereign Lord, when I am proved holy through you before their eyes. For I will take you out of the nations; I will gather you from all the countries and bring you back into your own land.'"

God is a covenant keeping God who is restoring the glory of His name through the Jewish people and the land of Israel.

Watch this final video and learn more about the glory of God's name magnified through the people of Israel. Through this video series, we hope you have been challenged, inspired, and awakened to more of God's magnificent heart of love, covenant, and glory towards Israel, the nations, and YOU!

Why?...Because of God's Covenant!

Why did God chose the nation of Israel?

Because in the very beginning, God made a covenant with Abraham.

Genesis 15:18 explains:
"On that day the Lord made a covenant with Abram and said,
'To your descendants I give this land, from the Wadi of Egypt to the great river, the Euphrates.'"

When our faithful God makes a covenant, He will absolutely keep it! Therefore, God has continued to stand firm in his promises to Abraham, Israel, and the Jewish people. This gives us confidence knowing that what God says to us, He will surely fulfill His word!

Watch and learn more about the importance of God's covenant with the Jewish people. As you watch this video, we pray that you will be inspired to dig into the word to discover more about our covenant-keeping God and the promises he has made and kept with Israel!

Stay tuned for the last video in this teaching series to explore why God continues to love and contend for the nation of Israel.

Why?...Because of God's Love!

Why is God bringing the Jewish people back to the land of Israel and restoring the land?

The main reason is because God LOVES  Israel and the Jewish people! From the very beginning, God has had a love relationship with the Jewish people.

Deuteronomy 7:7-8 explains God's heart towards Israel from the very beginning:

"The Lord did not set his affection on you and choose you because you were more numerous than other peoples, for you were the fewest of all peoples. But it was because the Lord loved you..."

Watch and learn more about this fascinating topic in this video from ICEJ President Jürgen Bühler, as he teaches from inside the old city walls of Jerusalem at Christ Church. As you watch, we hope you are inspired to discover more about God's love for Israel!

Stay tuned for the next two videos in this series explaining more reasons why God cares about the nation of Israel.

Restoration of the Jewish People

After reaching their lowest point in history, being scattered among the nations, despised, persecuted, with their land in utter desolation, Israel came to a point where a new era could begin.

God says clearly that when the time comes he will gather the Jewish people back to their homeland. Today, this is happening right in front of our eyes! God is dealing with Israel in a sovereign way, and He expects the Gentiles to speak tenderly to the Jewish people. God's intention from the beginning has been the spiritual restoration of the Jewish people.

Watch this video as Rev. Mojmir Kallus, VP of International Affairs, closes this series by wrapping up the final conclusion of what the word of God says about the spiritual condition of the Jewish people.

Thank you for watching this four-part series. We hope you were greatly blessed!

From Wastelands to Blooming Gardens

In Isaiah 6:11, Isaiah asks the Lord how long this spiritual hardness will remain for the Jewish people:

"Then I said, 'Lord, how long?' And He answered: 'Until the cities are laid waste and without inhabitant, the houses are without a man, the land is utterly desolate.'"

By the mid 1800's, God fulfilled these words about the land of Israel. Israel had to reach it's lowest place with no hope, so only God could change the desert wastelands into streams of living water.

If you travel to Israel today, you will see a very different picture of Israel. The land is no longer desolate, but instead it is full of Jewish people that have returned to the land from the four corners of the earth. God has turned the desert wastelands into blooming gardens. And even in the midst of their enemies, Israel has a thriving economy that is also a great blessing to the nations.

Watch this video as Rev. Mojmir Kallus, VP of International Affairs, takes us deeper into the word of God to see what God has done, is doing, and will do with the nation of Israel.

The Hardening of Israel - Isaiah's Encounter With God

In Isaiah 6:8, Isaiah explains his encounter with God: "Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying: 'Whom shall I send, and who will go for Us?' Then I said, 'Here am I! Send me.'”

He was then entrusted with a very difficult message from God in the next verses (9-10):

"And He said, 'Go, and tell this people: "Keep on hearing, but do not understand; Keep on seeing, but do not perceive." 'Make the heart of this people dull, and their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; Lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and return and be healed.'”

Isaiah understood the message of punishment, but he also knew that it was only a matter of time when God would turn his face again to His people. Israel will suffer, but NOT forever. Therefore, let us examine our hearts before judging the Jews.

The Hardening of Israel

How does Israel’s hardening towards Jesus and the Gospel fit into God's plan to bring salvation to the world? How long will it last? What will happen when this “hardening in part” is removed?

Join Rev. Mojmir Kallus, VP of International Affairs, as he addresses difficult Bible passages explaining the spiritual condition of the hardening of the hearts of the Jewish people. He examines these biblical truths to bring greater clarity and understanding. Let us approach these Scriptures with an open mind and ask the Holy Spirit to guide us into the whole truth.

Have You Not Read? Part Two

"Now the Berean Jews were of more noble character than those in Thessalonica, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true." (Acts 17:11)

In this verse, we discover believers who were eager to receive Paul's message, yet also displayed wisdom by digging into the Scriptures to make sure Paul's teaching aligned with God's truth.

ICEJ President Jürgen Bühler, addresses the destructive trend in the modern Church to separate from the word of God, and emphasises the great importance to value and read the Bible every day: "The Word of God, from Genesis to Revelation, is squarely about the person of Jesus."

As you watch the last video of this series, we pray you will be filled with a fresh passion for God's Word. We encourage you to make God's Word your daily food, and as you do we know the Lord will bless you greatly!
